Good Morning Families,
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the temporary closure of St Gabriel’s Nursery Heaton, effective at the close of day on Tuesday 31st of March. Please be assured this decision has not been made lightly. We must balance the practicalities of keeping nursery open with the health and wellbeing of all the children, families and staff we are responsible for. The situation we find ourselves in is so uncertain that we are currently unable to give a date to re-open. Once we know more, we shall let you know.
In regard to nursery fees, the nursery directors have decided that parents will not need to pay fees for April. Obviously if we are able to reopen before the end of April then parents will need to pay for what they use. If the current situation continues into May we will update you all as to how we plan to move forward.
Please cancel all standing orders and childcare voucher payments immediately if you have not done so already. Any payments made during this time will be allocated to your account as usual.
We want to take this opportunity to thank all families for the unconditional love and messages of support we have received, without it we don’t know how we would have made it through. We wish all our families to stay safe, stay at home and to see you all once this is all over.
The Management Team
As you are already aware, it has been announced that all schools in the UK are to close from Friday 20th March in order to supress the spread of coronavirus (covid-19) and nurseries have been asked to do the same. St Gabriel’s will adhere to this and therefore with a heavy heart we will be closing our doors to most of our children on Friday at 6pm. Although, we are looking to be able to provide childcare for those children of key people who are and continue to provide fundamental services.
In order to plan for the next few weeks, we need to establish who would be classed as a key worker. If you feel like you fall into this category, please can you email nursery with the following information:
We are yet to receive official confirmation from the Government as to who falls into the key group, this information is to give us an idea of possible numbers we may have.
In the meantime, pleased be assured we are working behind the scenes to ensure that we are doing everything we can to try and provide you with information to ease worries that this uncertain time is creating. We would like to thankyou all so much for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
